Albuquerque National Day of Prayer was a historic gathering of nearly 2,000 Catholics, Protestants, and Evangelicals who joined together at Civic Plaza on May 4, 2017 to exalt the name of Jesus and pray for our city, our state, and our nation.
We believe that what unites us is greater than what divides us. The basis for our unity is our Christology, not our particular expression of faith. Our love for Jesus and our faith in Him is what brings us together as one Church. We have one Father, one Lord, one Spirit, one baptism, one faith, one Body (Ephesians 4:4-6).
We were honored to have many special guests with us, including: Lt. Governor John Sanchez, Pastor Skip Heitzig, Archbishop John Wester, City Councilor Dan Lewis, Albuquerque Chief of Police Gorden Eden, County Commissioner Wayne Johnson, NM State Representative David Adkins, and NM State Representative Rod Montoya.
We had strong support from business leaders Paul Jew, John Moore, James Montoya, and Louis and Gloria Salazar. Over 80 pastors and churches participated in the event, including Pastor Richard Mansfield, Pastor Danny Sanchez, Pastor Tim Hale, Pastor Ray Montoya, Pastor Mike Dickenson, Pastor Dewey Moede, Pastor Stephen Sutherland, Pastors Mike and Sheri Schaefer, Pastor Eric Villanueva, Pastor Steve Williams, Pastor Lyle Reece, Pastor Jason Dickenson, Pastor Miguel Perez, Pastor Bill Ruhl, Pastor Brenton Franks, Pastor Alfonso Antillon, Pastor Jacob McLeroy, Pastor Mark Grothe, Pastor Frank Rubio, Dr. Marian Stewart, and Albuquerque National Day of Prayer Chairman, Pastor Brian Alarid. Two of the organizers of the event, Bishop David Cooper and John Robb, were out of state for the event.
TBN channel 23 filmed the event and Calvary Radio KNKT 107.1 broadcast it live on radio. Thank you to KOB TV 4, KOAT TV 7, and Albuquerque Journal for your coverage of the event. Continue praying for our city and our nation until the fire of revival sweeps across our nation. Join us next year for Albuquerque National of Day on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Civic Plaza. Acts 1:14, “They all joined together constantly in prayer…”
